PATINA IS NOT A STYLE.
IT´S AN ATTITUDE.
People who don´t want perfect.
They want real. They want soul.
The want a vehicle that tells a story.
They want a vehicle that lasts.

We Don't Paint Age. We Create the Illusion of History.
“The details you only discover on the second, third or even fourth look…”
Historic Automotive Finishes & Bespoke Patina for Exceptional Vehicles
Every historic vehicle carries a story. Sometimes it survives in the original paint, in traces of use, repairs and ageing. Sometimes that story has to be carefully reconstructed or newly interpreted.
JackSeven Fine Patina Art creates handcrafted automotive surfaces with an emphasis on authenticity, material character and historical credibility.
The objective is not simply to make a vehicle look old. It is to develop a surface that feels as though it belongs to the vehicle, its period and the life it might have lived.
Colour, paint layers, wear, surface structure and tactile character are considered together. From restrained ageing to visibly weathered competition finishes, every project is developed individually around the vehicle and its intended history.
A convincing historic finish should not appear applied.
It should feel as though it has always been there.

Handcrafted Automotive Surfaces with Authentic Character
Authentic automotive patina is more than a visual effect.
Historic surfaces develop through an interaction of paint layers, repairs, fading, wear, exposed material, environmental influences and countless traces accumulated over time.
Recreating this character requires an understanding of how surfaces age – and why particular signs of wear appear where they do.
At JackSeven Fine Patina Art, each finish is developed by hand. Paint layers, transitions, imperfections, ageing patterns and surface texture are individually adapted to the vehicle.
The tactile quality is equally important. Structure and haptic character give a surface depth that cannot be achieved through colour alone.
Whether the intended character is subtly aged, competition-worn or reminiscent of a long-stored Barn Find, the individual history of the vehicle remains the starting point.

Porsche – Historic Finishes with Restraint
Historic Porsche models require restraint.
Their proportions, colours and design language already possess a strong identity. Any ageing or reinterpretation of the surface should support that character rather than overpower it.
JackSeven develops individual Porsche finishes based on the model, period, colour and intended history of each vehicle.
Factory colours, previous repairs, subtle paint wear and traces inspired by historic motorsport can become part of the concept. Depending on the project, the result may range from restrained ageing to the unmistakable character of a competition-used car.
Experience with Porsche 356 and other historic Porsche models provides the foundation for surfaces that respect the identity of the vehicle while giving it an individual and believable character.

Pre-War Automobiles & Historic Vehicle Surfaces
Vehicles from the Pre-War era require a particularly sensitive approach to surfaces and ageing.
Materials, construction methods, historic paint systems and decades of use create a visual language fundamentally different from that of later classic vehicles.
For selected Pre-War automobiles and historic motorcycles, JackSeven develops finishes inspired by period use, surviving material evidence, historic repairs, road conditions and competition history.
The objective is never simply to make a vehicle appear old.
Its surface should establish a believable relationship between material, age and history.

Period-Correct Character
Colour, wear, exposed layers, gloss levels, surface texture and historical references are considered individually for every vehicle.
Before work begins, one question is fundamental:
What story should this particular vehicle tell?
The answer determines the direction and intensity of the surface.
Historic Racing Cars
Competition creates its own form of ageing.
Stone chips, fuel stains, oil traces, heat, exhaust residue, hurried repairs and repeated mechanical work leave characteristic evidence on a racing vehicle.
Historic Racing finishes therefore require a different approach from road-car patina.
The surface is developed around the conditions in which the vehicle could realistically have competed. The aim is not theatrical ageing, but a coherent competition history translated into paint, wear and texture.
Historical Paint Reconstruction & Original Paint Preservation
Not every historic surface should be replaced.
On significant collector vehicles, surviving original paint can be an important part of the vehicle's material history. Preserving this substance may be more appropriate than removing it in favour of a completely new finish.
Historical paint reconstruction therefore begins with understanding what is already present.
Existing paint layers, colour nuances, surface structure, gloss levels and traces of previous work can provide valuable information about the original finish and its subsequent history.
Where a project requires deeper investigation, paint-layer examination, microscopic analysis and specialist material research can support decisions about historically appropriate materials and the reconstruction of damaged areas.
The objective is not to make historic material appear new.
It is to preserve historical substance and visual continuity wherever reasonably possible while respecting the character and significance of the vehicle.
EXPLORE HISTORICAL PAINT RECONSTRUCTION
Hot Rods & American Classics
Hot Rods and American classics are part of the roots of JackSeven Fine Patina Art.
Their surfaces tell a different story: faded paint, old lettering, workshop repairs, exposed layers, racing influences and the visual traces of decades on the road.
Each finish is developed specifically for the vehicle rather than selected from a catalogue of predetermined effects.
From traditional Hot Rods and Pickups to American classics, the principle remains unchanged: the surface should support the character of the vehicle rather than disguise it.
This background also provides an important foundation for understanding how materials, repairs and automotive surfaces can change over time.

Selected Automotive Projects
No two JackSeven projects should tell the same story.
A Porsche 356 requires a different visual language from a Pre-War automobile. A historic racing car carries different traces from an American Farm Truck or a long-distance rally vehicle.
The JackSeven project archive documents these different approaches to handcrafted automotive surfaces, bespoke patina, historic finishes and individual vehicle histories.
From restrained collector vehicles to competition-inspired surfaces and strongly weathered classics, each project demonstrates how the character of a vehicle can be translated into colour, structure, wear and tactile detail.
More Than Four Decades of Automotive Experience
JackSeven Fine Patina Art was founded by Sven Freund and is built on more than four decades of practical experience with vehicles, bodywork, restoration and automotive surfaces.
A professional background in automotive mechanics and coachwork, combined with extensive experience in classic vehicles and paint restoration, provides the technical foundation behind the work.
Understanding how a vehicle was constructed, repaired and used is important when considering how its surface could realistically have aged.
Technical knowledge and visual judgement therefore belong together.
This becomes particularly important when working with historically significant vehicles, where restraint and respect for surviving material can be more valuable than creating a dramatic visual effect.
Every project is approached individually – with respect for the vehicle, its age, its substance and the story entrusted to it.

Based in Germany. Working Internationally.
JackSeven Fine Patina Art is based in Germany and works with collectors, restorers, automotive specialists and owners of exceptional vehicles internationally.
Projects can range from individual components and carefully aged finishes to complete surface concepts and historically informed reconstruction.
For international commissions, photographs, documentation and historical references can provide the foundation for an initial assessment and concept.
The first step, however, is always to understand the vehicle itself.
Its history. Its condition. Its character.
And the story its surface should tell.
Discuss Your Vehicle
Every project begins with a conversation.
Tell us about your vehicle, its history, its current condition and the character you would like its surface to communicate.
Whether the project involves a Porsche, a Pre-War automobile, a Historic Racing Car, surviving original paint or an entirely individual vehicle, the objective is to develop an approach that respects its identity rather than imposing a predefined style upon it.
The brand with soul.
Patina can be seen. Fine Patina Art should also be felt.
